One of the oldest Summer traditions is San Francisco is the Stern Grove Festival in the Sunset District (19th & Sloat Blvd). The Festival provides free access to diverse live music to Bay Area residents. From classic symphony to Afro Cuban sounds the Festival caters to all music aficionados and provides a very unique experience. Starting in June and running throughout the Summer, the Festival allows for patrons to bring their own food, beer and wine while accompanying a very unique concert experience. There are tables that can be reserved for a price, but it is best to experience the event from the grass, like the locals do. I would recommend getting there early to reserve a good spot. Although parking is allowed on the streets, I would recommend taking public transportation. The Sunset’s weather is highly unpredictable, noon temperature will be scolding, but 2PM will bring a breeze. Dress appropriately.
